‘Federal govt could appoint new Sindh governor’
Sources said PMLN leader Bashir Memon could be the new governor
KARACHI: The federal government could appoint a new governor in the Sindh province.
A consensus has emerged between the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan Peoples Party on appointing a new governor in Sindh in place of Kamran Khan Tessori, reliable sources said on Friday.
The sources said that Sindh PMLN leader Bashir Memon, who earlier served as the director-general of the Federal Investigation Agency, could be the new governor. They expected the appointment to be made in the next few days.
On Friday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif came to Karachi and visited the Chief Minister House for a one-to-one meeting with Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, after inaugurating the Food & Agriculture Expo. The PM during his stay in Karachi didn’t visit the Sindh Governor House. Governor Tessori, however, received the PM on his arrival in Karachi and remained with him during the visit.
