LAHORE:Lahore Development Authority teams in an operation against illegal constructions and commercial fee defaulters here on Monday sealed more than 24 properties and partially demolished three properties in Allama Iqbal Town and on Multan Road.

Chief Town Planner Asad-uz-Zaman said that during the operation, LDA teams sealed 10 properties for not paying commercial fees and 16 properties for illegal commercial use.

Three properties were partially demolished for illegal constructions. The sealed properties include general stores, saloons, food points, private schools, and others. Before the operation, multiple notices were issued to these properties, he said, adding enforcement wing and a large contingent of police also participated in the operation.

Meanwhile, LDA Director General Tahir Farooq visited the Lahore Development Authority One Window Cell and inquired about the problems being faced by the citizens. Director Lahore Development Authority One Window Cell Rafia Nazir gave a briefing on the daily requests. LDA director general inquired about the status of the certified and non-certified files received on One Window Cell.

He expressed displeasure over the delay in processing of applications related to non-sifted files and said that unreasonable objection to the citizens’ requests was not acceptable in any case. A response will be sought from the directorate from which the complaint was lodged, he said and asked for a detailed report on the requests received on One Window Cell. He directed the officers to take practical steps instead of verbal submissions to provide relief to the citizens.
