Islamabad: Memorial ceremonies held in Islamabad and Rawalpindi to pay tribute to the sacrifices of police martyrs.
A ceremonial guard from the police paid tribute to the martyrs at the Police Lines Memorial, honouring their sacrifices. Secretary of the Interior, Khurram Agha, laid a wreath at the memorial. Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Region, Babar Sarfaraz presided over a ceremony held in Police Lines Rawalpindi.
The event was attended by DIG (Operations) Islamabad Syed Ali Raza, DIG (Security) Jawad Tariq, and other police officers. Families of the martyrs were specially invited to the ceremony. Prayers were offered for the elevation of the martyrs' ranks and the safety and security of the country and nation. A special ceremony was also organized in honour of the police martyrs.
Secretary of the Interior distributed gifts among the families of the martyrs. "August 4th is an opportunity to pay tribute to police martyrs across the country," stated Khurram Agha. "Sixty-two officers of the Islamabad Police have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty," said the Secretary of the Interior. He emphasized that "the martyrs are our valuable asset, and their immortal sacrifices will never be forgotten."
Khurram Agha assured that every officer of the Islamabad Police stands with the families of the martyrs in every moment of joy and sorrow. "The martyrs sacrificed their present to secure our future," he stated. "The martyrs, who made great sacrifices in the line of duty, are our pride," affirmed the Secretary of the Interior.
