Walk held to demand peace in Kurram
PESHAWAR: Ahle Sunnat Waljamaat, Kurram district, on Friday held a walk demanding restoration of peace in their area. Ulema, citizens and workers of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat participated in the walk. Eid Nazar Faroqi, Malik Mairaj, Malik Munawar, Fayyazur Rehman, Malik Marjan and others addressed the participants of the walk.
The speakers demanded clearing upper Kurram from weapons and restoration of peace in Kurram district. The participants walked from Masjid Qasim Ali Khan to Misgaran Chowk.
Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat chief Eid Nazar Farooqi said that the government must accept the demands of Ahle Sunnat to restore peace to Kurram district. He asked the federal and provincial government to declare Boshera a red zone and start checking everyone while entering and leaving the area.
He demanded military operation in upper Kurram for restoration of peace. He also demanded measures to stop foreign interference in Kurram district, rehabilitate the displaced families and addressed all issues in light of the commission report constituted under the Murree agreement.
