Fawad, Rasheed forced Imran to resign from assemblies: Hamid
“There are others who make statements to increase differences within the party," says Hamid
ISLAMABAD: Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Hamid Khan has disclosed that then Fawad Chaudhry and Sheikh Rasheed had forced Imran Khan to resign from assemblies, calling Fawad a planted man right from the beginning.
The PTI legislator said the biggest ‘excess’ was to resign from the assemblies at the time of no-confidence, while Shah Mahmood and Pervaiz Elahi said that Fawad Chaudhry and Sheikh Rasheed had forced the founder of PTI to resign.
Talking to a private TV channel, he said that those who meet the party founder interpret the instructions they receive differently, some of them did so for their own publicity. “There are others who make statements to increase differences within the party. The founder of PTI and Shah Mehmood Qureshi are under arrest, so there is a leadership vacuum,” he maintained.
To a question about Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Hamid Khan said that he does not want to say anything about the JUI-F supremo because the party was talking to him. However, he said, the expectations that Fazlur Rehman had from the establishment were not fulfilled, therefore what he (JUI-F chief) is saying is expression of frustration.
He said that those who were harmful to the party have been sidelined to a great extent, adding a few have been identified and one of then is Sher Afzal Marwat, who wanted personal promotion. He damaged the party through statements, Hamid Khan added.
The senior lawyer said that after the SC decision on the reserved seats, the government lost its senses and talked about banning PTI. He said the real fear of the government is from the tribunals. “There is no need for a long inquiry on most of the seats, especially in the national and provincial assembly in Punjab, as just counting form 45 will give us many seats,” he claimed.
He said the rulers fear that they will have to vacate our seats now. Hamid went on to claim that most of their people, including Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam and Aun Chaudhry, have lost badly in the elections once correct counting is done, everything will become crystal clear. He said Imran had learnt a lot and after February 8 when he met the PTI founder, he was very happy that the nation had listened to him.
In response to a question, Hamid Khan said that the founder of PTI is clear on who should be allowed to rejoin the party. Hamid Khan explained that Imran Ismail, Fawad Chaudhry and Aamir Kayani are among the founders of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) while Fawad joined the IPP. “Fawad Chaudhry is a planted man and he has always been like that. Still he wants to harm the party from within,” Hamid Khan alleged.
