ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Secretariat has taken strict measures for its employees, directing them to refrain from indulging into political activities, unauthorised access to official information and leakage of such information to unauthorised quarters.
The NA Secretariat asked all its employees for the submission of details of all their accounts on social media platforms and all cellular phone numbers registered on their CNIC to data source unit in writing within three days.
According to the circular issued on Wednesday, taking serious cognisance of various instances of unlawful and uncalled for attitude of certain employees, the competent authority has strictly directed all employees of the Secretariat to refrain from unauthorised access to official information and leakage of such information to unauthorised quarters, bringing influence for employment related matters, indulging in political, illegal and unethical activities, glorification of detrimental media platforms and irresponsible sentiments through social spreading false information, fake news and fabricated rumours through digital communication to harm reputation of any person and institution or to advances any type of hatred.
The circular stated that foregoing in view, all in-service/ retired employees of the Secretariat are required to abide by all applicable laws including the service rules and norms failing which action under the Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules 2020, or as the case may be, under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 would be initiated.
