ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has extended the instant license to EGas subject to payment of a penalty for selling flare gas to CNG stations without license.
The EGas has been allowed to sell flare gas from Kibir- X-I, gas field, Sanghar, Sindh, of Pakistan Petroleum Limited to industrial consumers for five years except CNG stations.
Earlier, the regulator had fined the firm Rs19.944 million for selling flare gas to the CNG stations without license on June 13, 2024. The regulator has asked the firm to first pay the penalty and only then it will be granted the instant license.
The regulator decided on July 23, 2024 to grant the firm license on the condition of paying the Rs19.944 million penalty. In its decision, the regulator says the licensee can only undertake regulated activities for sale of natural gas or flare gas after getting license.
