MANSEHRA: Two members of a family from the Rajanpur district of Punjab were buried alive when a glacier collapsed at Saiful Muluk Road in Kaghan Valley here late Monday evening.
The glacier, which falls at a little distance from Saiful Muluk Lake collapsed because of scorching heat and fell on tourists who were taking selfies underneath it.The locals rushed on the spot and shifted both injured to the Basic Health Unit in Naran the commercial hub of Kaghan Valley where doctors pronounced both of them dead.
The dead were identified by doctors as Mohammad Parsa 13 and Mohammad Mehran 22.According to doctors bodies were dispatched to the Rajanpur after completion of legal formalities. The same glacier collapsed in August 2016 for the first time and three members of a tourist’s family from the Kharadar area of Karachi died after being trapped alive beneath snowy boulders.Over a dozen glaciers still found across picturesque Kaghan Valley are big attractions to visitors coming here from the lower parts of the country during the summer season.
