RAWALPINDI: The founder of PTI Imran Khan Monday has refused to cooperate with the Lahore Police investigation team, consequently, the Lahore team went back without recording statement of jailed Imran Khan, the jail sources said.
The jail sources said that the investigation team from Lahore arrived on Monday morning but left in the evening without questioning the PTI founder. Jail sources said that the former prime minister was sent multiple messages to participate in the investigation, but he refused to do so in the absence of his lawyers and did not appear before the Lahore Police investigation team.
The 12-member investigation team, led by SP Rana Zahid, was accompanied by a team from the Lahore Forensic Science Laboratory, including Abid Ayub, Waqas Khalid, and Ali Raza, who were supposed to conduct a polygraph test on the PTI founder.
The PTI founder is on a 10-day physical remand in connection with 12 cases registered on May 9 in Lahore, which was approved by the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore. It is noteworthy that the former prime minister and his wife had also refused to cooperate with the NAB team the previous day.
