17 arrested, contrabands seized

MARDAN: District police arrested 17 persons and recovered contraband items during raids in various areas on Monday.
A spokesman for the Mardan Police said that on the directive of District Police Officer Zahoor Babar, the cops raided the Toru area, leading to the arrest of three proclaimed offenders, two abettors in crimes, and 12 other suspects. The cops also recovered one Kalashnikov, three pistols, along with bullets.Meanwhile, police in the Jabar area arrested a wanted man, identified as Amir Khan, and also recovered a pistol from his possession.
