Headstart School excels at NERC, securing top honours in multiple categories
Islamabad: Headstart School's students have secured top positions in multiple categories at the National Engineering Robotics Contest, showcasing their talent and expertise in drone design, piloting skills, and remote-controlled planes.
The event, held from July 9 to July 13, saw participation from various schools of the country. Headstart School's 19 teams competed in Aeros FPV Drone, Line of Sight Drone, Aeros RC Planes, and the Modular category with their dedication, hard work, and innovative approaches earning them first place in the Aeros category and second in the Modular category.
Notably, Saad Arsalan's exceptional piloting skills and innovative drone design got him first place in the Aeros FPV Drone category, while Fahd Assad's precision and agility in the Line of Sight Drone category secured another first place for Headstart.
The school achieved further success with a first-place win in the Line of Sight Drone category, led by Fahd Assad, whose drone showcased remarkable precision and agility, impressing both judges and spectators.
Additionally, Aariz Ali Khan excelled in the Aeros RC Planes category, demonstrating exceptional skill and control with complex manoeuvres that set him apart from the competition.
In the Modular School Category, Headstart students, including Haider Jillani, Zohaib Arsalan, Muhammad Talha Adeel, Saad Arsalan, Talal Ahmed Awan and Raffay Zeeshan, stood second, attributing their success to teamwork. The National Engineering Robotics Contest consisted of around 100 rounds,including qualifying, pre-quarters, quarters, semi-finals, and the grand finale, according to Saadia Habib, the manager of the Robofort Centre for Engineering and Robotics at Headstart School.
She said Headstart School students demonstrated exceptional skills and innovative projects throughout, garnering high praise from judges, spectators and other competitors alike. Their journey to success began with meticulous preparation, including inspection and viva sessions on July 9. Qualifying rounds took place on July 11, followed by the highly competitive quarters on July 13. The semi-finals and finals were also held the same day, with Headstart teams dominating the top positions.
"The Headstart School community is immensely proud of its robotics teams' achievements. Their exceptional performance at the NERC not only brought accolades to the school but also underscored its commitment to nurturing a love for science and technology in students," Saadia Habib said.
