PCB finalises budget for Champions Trophy
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has completed the financial blueprint for the ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled to take place in Pakistan next February.
The budget was given the final shape after consultation between the International Cricket Council Chief Finance Officer Ankur Khanna and PCB Chief Finance Officer Javed Murtaza.
The PCB’s Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, and CEO, Salman Naseer, are set to travel to Colombo on Thursday (tomorrow) to present the budget to the International Cricket Council (ICC) for approval on July 22. It has been confirmed that the budget is the sole agenda item for the meeting, with no discussions planned for alternative formats or additional funding. To ensure the smooth execution of the tournament, an ICC delegation is expected to visit Pakistan in October to assess the preparations.
