Broken promises

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had promised to end loadshedding and reduce electricity costs. Yet, the government took out front-page ads and played the PM's voice on calls to announce a drastic electricity price hike three months after another hike.

It is shameful how the government portrays this as a relief. Even more disgraceful is the reason given: high government expenses. The government's actions starkly contrast with their promises, adding to the burden on citizens instead of providing the promised relief.
