Syed Abidi meets Governor Tessori, offers career counselling to Sindh students
LAHORE:Renowned career counsellor and veteran educationist Syed Abidi met Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori in Karachi on the invitation of Sindh Governor House.
The governor expressed his desire to provide career counselling, guidance and scholarship support to the youth and students of Sindh, and for this purpose, a seminar was organised by the Governor House. The students from universities across Sindh were invited to the presentation, which was attended by Kamran Tessori as a chief guest.
Talking to students through a comprehensive slide presentation, Abidi highlighted the importance of career counselling, and its benefits for the youth. He emphasised that the students and the young generation of Pakistan were facing great challenges, particularly in the education domain, where they were faced with getting admissions, and choosing the right profession, whether or not they should go abroad for higher studies, etc.
Syed Abidi said that career counselling was the most effective tool that helped students and people from all walks of life to understand and overcome their career and professional issues, and the advice given by experts and those with several years in career counselling played a key role in this direction.
Journalists from print and electronic media attended the presentation, where the Sindh governor announced the partnership between Syed Abidi and Governor House as an initiative to support the students of Sindh aspiring to study abroad through scholarships.
Kamran Tessori observed that all services provided to students from Syed Abidi and his team will be free of cost, which means that the students shall not have to pay any charges for these services to consultants or agents.
The governor who has initiated a number of programmes for providing help and support to the people of Sindh including the provision of free grocery to the needy, laptops to those who cannot afford to help in their studies, and even motorcycles to the youth so that they can use it to earn money through their own vehicles.
Kamran Tessori said that he has also introduced a Qarz e Hasana (no-refund loan) for those who bring a great business idea/ plan that is approved by an expert jury and the student is awarded with start-up money, etc.
In addition to this, there are thousands of students that are currently being trained on the Governor House premises by experts, particularly in the IT and AI area, the expenses of which are being borne by Kamran Tessori and his family, without any burden on the government funds.
Syed Abidi thanked the governor for his hospitality and assured him that he and his team shall do their best to support and guide the students of Sindh colleges and universities and help with their applications for scholarships and he was available to visit Governor House for this purpose whenever needed.
