There is a lot of talk about disbanding the Pakistan Public Works Demand these days. In my view, disbanding an organization that has been around for decades is no solution. The government should look at the causes that brought the PWD to its present predicament and make whole-hearted efforts to correct these mistakes.
Only once this measure is taken should disbanding or privatization be concerned and it should involve all wasteful organizations at the federal and provincial levels without any bias.
