Tribal elder, guard killed in Tirah valley

BARA: A tribal elder and his guard were killed while another person sustained injuries when unidentified persons opened fire on them in Tirah valley of Khyber district, official and local sources said on Wednesday.
They said that Zahir Shah, an elder of the Bar Qambarkhel tribe, and his guards were on their way to attend a jirga in a car when unidentified gunmen opened fire on them in Saran locality in Maidan area. As a result, they said, Ahmad Khan and Abdul Qayyum died on the spot while Ihsan Khan sustained injuries.
The injured was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.Soon after the incident, the police and security forces reached the place and cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
