Girl, man killed for honour in Swabi

SWABI: A girl and a young man were killed in the name of honour in Topi tehsil in Swabi district, sources said.One Juma Gul, 64, while filing the first information report at the Topi City Police Station, said that he was asleep in the courtyard of his house at night and woke up when he heard gunshots at around 1am.

He said his son Mukhtiar Khan had killed his 20-year-old daughter and a 23-year-old young man after seeing them in an objectionable condition. He said that both were killed on the spot. He said that the young man had entered their house by scaling the boundary wall.

When contacted, Haroon Khan, in-charge of Topi City Police Station, said that they were informed by the local people about the incident. He said the police went to the spot and took the bodies to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.The police arrested the accused and recovered the gun used in the incident.
