Man shot dead over monetary issue

LAHORE:A 45-year-old man was shot dead and another was injured in the limits of North Cantt police, following a monetary issue. The victim was identified as Imtiaz and the injured as Afzal. The accused was identified as Shafiq. North Cantt police arrested Shafiq who tried to escape by jumping from the roof and sustained injuries. Both the injured were admitted to hospital. The body was shifted to the morgue. Police have registered a murder case on the complaint of the victim’s son Ali Ahmed.

Three robbers held in injured condition

Police arrested three robbers in injured condition from separate locations here on Sunday. Kahna and Chuhng police arrested each robber who had been shot and wounded by their own accomplices. The robber identified by Chuhng police was Usman. Nawab Town police arrested another robber, later identified as Naveed.

Woman found dead in field

A 25-year-old woman was found dead in a field in the limits of Hanjarwal police on Sunday. Some unidentified persons gunned down the victim and threw her body in the field. The victim identified as Fozia was living alone after having a dispute with her family. Police shifted the body to the morgue.

13 die in road accidents in Punjab

The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,029 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. In these accidents, 13 people died, whereas 1,064 were injured. Out of these, 452 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 612 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.

Elderly man electrocuted to death

An 80-year-old man was electrocuted to death in Hajwiri Housing Scheme Harbanspura on Sunday. The victim was identified as Muhammad Hanif. The old man came in contact with an electric pole, resulting in his instant death. The body was shifted to the morgue.

Man held on charges of torturing maid

Defence B police arrested a man on charges of torturing a 13-year-old maid. The accused was identified as Hussam. Police were conducting raids for the arrest of Hussam’s wife Omaima. Police have registered a case against the couple on the complaint of the victim’s mother Nabeela.
