A young female victim of domestic violence was rescued by police from a house near Malir Cantonment.
According to Malir SSP Kashif Abbasi, the girl accused her mother and brother of abusing her and was unwilling to return to her family. The officer stated that the girl had shared photos showing violence inflicted on her on social media.
The SSP said when the police arrived at the house, the girl's brother was not at home and they questioned the other family members. In a video statement, the girl said that her brother and mother tortured her and a week ago, her mother tried to kill her.
The girl also mentioned that one of her friends informed police about her, following which police rescued her. The case also drew attention of Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar who sought details from the Malir SSP. "Those responsible for the violence should be brought to justice," he said.
