Lyari to host event to celebrate Benazir’s birthday: Ghani
An event will be held in the Lyari area of Karachi on June 21 to celebrate the birthday of the late Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto in a befitting manner, Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani said on Sunday.
Ghani, who is the PPP Karachi Division president, chaired a meeting of his division, in which he said the party’s office-bearers, activists, supporters, MNAs and MPAs from all districts of Karachi would participate in large numbers in the upcoming event in Lyari.
He asked the office-bearers of the PPP Karachi chapter to immediately begin making the arrangements for the upcoming birthday event in Lyari. He said that it would be an honour for the people of Lyari to be the hosts of this year’s event to celebrate Benazir’s birthday.
The meeting was attended by PPP Sindh General Secretary Waqar Mehdi, PPP Karachi General Secretary Javed Nagori, PPP District South President Khalil Hout and others.
