Charity to slaughter 220 sacrificial animals for flood victims

CHARSADDA: A charity has planned to slaughter 220 sacrificial animals to distribute meat among the deserving and flood affected of Charsadda district and elsewhere in the province.

Rahimullah Khan, regional head of the Muslim Hands, a non-governmental organization, said that they would slaughter 220 sacrificial animals on the premises of the regional headquarters office on the first day of Eidul Azha.

He said that meat of the sacrificial animals would then be distributed among the 5,666 deserving and affectees of floods, including Afghan refugees, in Charsadda district.

He said that special teams had been constituted for slaughtering the sacrificial animals and the subsequent distribution of meat among the flood victims.

He said that the Muslims Hands was slaughtering sacrificial animals in order to provide nutritious meat to the poor and affectees of floods and promote Islamic brotherhood and extend a helping hand to the needy people.

The NGO head said that the charity was sacrificing more animals as compared to yester years as more people were not able to do qurbani due to the rising inflation and poverty in the region.

He said that over 20 sacrificial animals would be slaughtered at Afghan refugee camp in Kohat while 200 sacrificial animals would be slaughtered on the first and second days of Eidul Azha in Peshawar.

He said that each affectee and Afghan refugee would get five kilograms of packet of sacrificial meat in Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Malakand and Kohat.
