25 injured as school bus overturns

ABBOTTABAD: As many as 25 persons, including 22 girl students, were injured when a Haripur-bound private school coaster overturned near Bagnoter on Murree Road here on Thursday.

The incident occurred at Batangi more near Bagnoter on Abbottabad Murree Road. The students of the private school of Rehana, Haripur, were on a study trip to Galiyat when the vehicle overturned. As a result, 22 female students, three teachers, and the driver, sustained injuries. who were rushed to hospital.

Police officials said six students were taken to the Ayub Medical Complex for treatment owing to their serious condition. They said the Rescue 1122 teams responded promptly, dispatching three ambulances to the scene.

The officials said the coaster was carrying 42 female students and eight teachers at the time of the accident. Rescue personnel provided immediate first aid to the injured and transported them to the hospital. An investigation into the incident has been launched to determine the cause of the accident.
