LAHORE: A land grabber in the guise of a malang shot dead an employee of Lesco Civil Works Sukh Nehar and injured two others, including a cop and another Lesco employee in the Baghbanpura police limits on Monday.The accused person identified as Asif alias Aachhi hid himself in the basement of Lesco building’s compound and kept on exchanging fire with the police for more than two hours. A large number of people, mostly the Lesco employees, gathered outside his hideout, protested against the Punjab Police and demanded encounter of the accused person at the spot. Employees went into the room of tubewell operator and found Muhammad Mansha, the tubewell operator, in a pool of blood. The victim had died on the spot.
