PMLN lawyers say PM’s China visit to boost economy
PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) Lawyers Forum Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday hailed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China and said this would help strengthen economic relations and promote business-to-business contacts.
In a statement, PMLN Lawyers Forum’s provincial President Kifayatullah Khan said the prime minister’s meetings with Chinese leadership would help boost strategic partnership and regional cooperation. He said many Pakistani companies participated in business-to-business conferences in China to explore opportunities for mutual growth and cooperation.
Lauding the prime minister’s efforts to boost the economy, he said various agreements were made to attract Chinese investment. The PMLN Lawyers Forum chief said the extension of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was a good omen, adding the mega project faced challenges and delays but it would enhance socioeconomic progress and overcome financial hardships.
Kifayatullah hoped the visit would provide a much-needed economic boost to Pakistan, which was facing rising inflation, soaring external debt, and poverty.
