MIRANSHAH: Village councillors from North Waziristan have unanimously called on the district administration and higher authorities to ensure the immediate recovery of Malik Kamal Shah, a councillor from Khadi Village Council, who was abducted from the Bannu district the other day.

Speaking at a press conference at the Miranshah Press Club, they said that Malik Kamal Shah, councillor of Khadi Village Council-2 in the Mir Ali subdivision, was kidnapped by unidentified people from the Bannu bus terminal on June 7.

The village councillors of North Waziristan stated that despite lack of salaries and funds, they remained dedicated to serving the public but still such bad incidents happened to them.

A councilor, Abid Khan, stated: “On the one hand, we are serving the public, and on the other, we are being targeted and abducted.”

Maulana Ahmaduddin, while addressing the press, said: “We, all VC chairmen, urge the authorities to play their role in securing the release of councillor Kamal Shah.”

ANP leader, Malik Attaullah Jan Babar, highlighted Kamal Shah’s commitment to public service, describing him as a people-friendly and dedicated person.
