Cylinder blast death toll reaches 26 as three more die
HYDERABAD: Three more persons injured in the cylinder blasts that took place in the Preetabad area of Hyderabad on May 30 died at the Civil Hospital Karachi on Thursday raising the death toll of the incident to 26.
The three deceased were identified as 13-year-old Ajmal, son of Muhammad Ali Umar, Muhammad Ashraf, son of Hameed and eight-year-old Kinza, daughter of Zeeshan. They had been brought to the burns ward of the Civil Hospital following the explosions.
Meanwhile, an explosion occurred in the Bhit Shah area of Matiari district on Thursday during the filling of LPG in a cylinder. A total of seven people were injured in the incident. According to the Matiari police, the injured were initially shifted to a Matiari hospital from where they were later shifted to the Civil Hospital Hyderabad where the condition of three of the injured was stated to be critical. The injured included Allah Bakhsh, Dilbar, Muhammad Saleh, Abid, Nader, Waheed Shah and Burmela.
