LAHORE
The Punjab government is committed to enhancing the skills and knowledge of government officers working in the province.
In order to build the capacity of the government officers, Punjab Planning and Development Department intends to hold series of short training programmes by top institutes in key areas, including procurement, project management and monitoring and evaluation.
Planning and Development Punjab Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo said this on Thursday while addressing the concluding ceremony of short training course on Public Sector Procurement Management for government officers at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
He highlighted the challenges being faced by the government institutions during procurement.
He also lauded the efforts of Punjab Procurement Regulatory Authority (PRMP) and LUMS for arranging the short training programme in short span of time.
PPRA Managing Director Ali Bahadur Qazi, highlighting the importance of PPRA rules and procedures, explained the vision of the Punjab chief minister for ensuring transparency in public sector procurement.
