This refers to the letter ‘Price hike’ (May 16, 2024) by Huma Anjum. The letter highlights a valid issue. It is quite astonishing how quickly transporters raise their fares when petrol prices increase. As a result, it is the ordinary people that suffer.
Delivery charges are also enhanced and consumers have to bear the higher costs which are beyond their paying capacity. The incumbent government needs to establish price monitoring teams to ensure a reduction in transport fares.
