‘Govt committed to welfare of persons with disabilities’

HAFIZABAD: Deputy Director Social Welfare and Baitul Maal Aamina Ashraf stated that the Punjab government is committed to the welfare of persons with disabilities and aims to help them become self-sufficient and productive members of society.

She made these remarks during the inauguration of a registration center for persons with disabilities at the office of the Bunyad Foundation. She said the purpose and benefits of registering persons with disabilities, including access to various government schemes and facilities. Aamina Ashraf outlined the types of disabilities covered by the registration process, as well as the required documents for registration. She emphasized that only registered persons with disabilities are eligible for educational, healthcare, employ- ment, and social welfare programs provided by the govt.

UPLIFT PROJECTS: Deputy Commissioner Sundas Irshad visited various areas of the city on Tuesday to assess the progress of public welfare projects initiated by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

She inspected Jalalpur Bhattian Road and Qila Sahib Singh to check the cleanliness and desilting of the drainage system. During her visit, she emphasized the importance of desilting all drains in the city before the rainy season to ensure the smooth flow of rainwater and prevent flooding during the monsoon. Accompanying the DC were the Administrator of the Municipal Committee Hafizabad, Imtiaz Ali Baig, and Chief Officer MC Ansar Sahi. Later, the DC visited different areas to oversee government-fixed Roti and Naan prices and quality of the products.
