Teams formed to recover outstanding electricity dues

CHARSADDA: The district administration has constituted special teams on the instructions of the provincial government to recover outstanding dues from the electricity consumers on six feeders in Charsadda.

In the first phase, action will be taken against the power consumers on those feeders, where the recovery of electricity bills stands at five percent. Action will also be taken against the power consumers, who were not paying the bills.

The action is being planned as per a formula reached during a meeting between the chief minister and the chief executive of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company. According to the formula, the consumers would be provided relief of two hours in the duration of loadshedding on three feeders each in the Charsadda and Shabqadar sub-divisions.

The consumers on the six feeders have Rs2404 million outstanding dues. The minimum recovery of the electricity bills on these feeders stands at five percent. The maximum recovery of bills was put at 15 percent on the Sherpao feeder.
