LAHORE: Nestle Pakistan has released its 2023 Creating Shared Value (CSV) report, highlighting the company's efforts to promote sustainability and reduce its environmental impact.
The report, titled "Powering a Sustainable Tomorrow," details Nestlé Pakistan's progress in areas such as climate action, sustainable plastics, regenerative agriculture, renewable energy, and water regeneration, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
"We are committed to being a force for good throughout our value chain by creating shared value and delivering on our sustainability agenda," said Jason Avancena, CEO of Nestle Pakistan.
The company has made significant strides in renewable energy, powering its 2.5MW and 2.6MW solar power plants at its factories in Kabirwala and Sheikhupura.
Nestle Pakistan has also made efforts to reduce plastic waste, donating compressing and baling machines in Gilgit, Hunza, and Skardu, and installing benches and waste bins made of recycled plastic at popular tourist hotspots.
In addition, the company has implemented initiatives to preserve water resources and promote regenerative agriculture, including the use of drip irrigation and smart soil moisture sensors.
