IG orders effective patrolling to check crimes

LAHORE:Punjab IG Dr Usman Anwar has said that according to the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, zero tolerance is being ensured in the incidents of crimes related to women and children.

He directed the police officers to make patrolling more effective and speed up the intelligence based targeted operations for the prevention and eradication of drugs. IGP directed Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit to conduct more effective targeted patrolling to eradicate street crime. He said to ensure the provision of state-of-the-art facilities to the citizens at Khidmat, Tahaffuz and Meesaq centres. Dr Usman Anwar said that all development projects including smart police stations and other infrastructure development initiatives should be completed within the stipulated timeline. He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting of Lahore police officers at the Central Police Office.

DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Faisal Kamran gave a briefing on law and order, crime control, community policing. The IG appreciated the performance of Lahore police for maintaining the law and order, crime control. AIG Development Sahibzada Bilal Umar, SSP Operations Ali Raza, SP Dolphin Squad and other SPs were also present.

Gang of drug peddlers busted

DIG Organised Crime Unit (OCU) Imran Kishwar has claimed to have arrested the biggest drugs peddling gang Jordan Gang.

He while addressing a press conference said that the ringleader Jordan’s identity was hidden and fake. They faced a lot of trouble and had to work a lot to arrest him. His real name is M Ayub. However the ringleader would use Jordan as his name in the network.The drugs network would make a fake ID and contact drug peddlers. They would smuggle drugs using chocolates. The suspects would also use courier services to snuggle drugs. Over 110-KG weed, 130 vapes, nine CBD vapes have been recovered from their custody. They would also smuggle drugs in Elite Class, schools, colleges and university.
