PTI sit-in for Imran’s release continues
SWABI: The workers and leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have stayed put at the protest sit-in near the Anbar Interchange of the Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway demanding the release of former prime minister Imran Khan.
Former federal minister Zartaj Gul and former speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser addressed the party workers, who have been staging the protest for the last few days.
Zartaj Gul said that Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub, PTI Chairman Gohar Khan, Asad Qaiser and many others had become leaders due to Imran Khan. She said that it was Imran Khan, who had taught them to face tyranny and never give up in the face of hardship. She said that Imran Khan defeated the candidates of the political parties despite being behind bars. She said that a leader like Imran Khan was born once in centuries. The former minister said that the PTI workers and leaders would not rest until the release of former prime minister Imran Khan. “We will continue to raise our voice for the release of our leader,” he said. She claimed that fake cases were registered against the PTI founder. Zartaj Gul claimed the last general election was rigged and the mandate of the PTI was stolen. Criticizing the Punjab government, he said that innocent farmers were subjected to arrests and baton charges in Lahore the other day.
