Pakistan is currently facing both an acute shortage of energy and the issue of excessively high energy costs that domestic consumers cannot afford. These high charges, coupled with frequent power cuts, not only disrupt people's social lives but also have a detrimental impact on the country's economy. Unfortunately, many industrial units have moved to other countries in the region where there is no energy crisis that will raise their production costs.
This issue needs to be addressed promptly as doing so will not only reduce our imports but also enhance exports. This, in turn, will end the foreign exchange crisis as well. Therefore, the government and energy authorities should take notice and implement effective measures to tackle this conundrum for the prosperity of the country.
