PPP leader wants rehabilitation work expedited in Chitral
CHITRAL: A senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has expressed concern over the non-rehabilitation of infrastructure destroyed by the floods and earthquake.
Speaking to media here, PPP leader Sultan Wazir said the district administration had failed to restore the damaged infrastructure in the remote mountainous district. He also lamented that the affectees of the flashfloods and earthquake were not compensated so far.
The former bureaucrat said that the Sindh government had provided Rs50 million to the district administration for the flood-hit people of Chitral but lamented that the administration had failed to utilise the funds.
The PPP leader added though the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had announced waving off the agricultural loans, a notification in this regard was yet to be issued.
Criticising the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI’s)-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, he said the construction work on the Torkhow road had been suspended since long despite allocation of funds for the project.
Sultan Wazir also rejected the extension of Customs Act to Malakand and termed it an injustice with the people of the region.
They also criticised the delay in launch of reconstruction work on the Pedo Power House in Reshun.
