‘Geo Pakistan’ morning show starts tomorrow
KARACHI: Geo News will start a unique, full of information, entertainment based morning show, Geo Pakistan from Monday (May 9).
Geo Pakistan has been designed and conceived to deliver a 2-hour news bulletin, stylised as a long format show. It is fast paced and is constantly evolving style of news delivery, inclusive of breaking, news alerts and developing stories. Geo Pakistan is aimed to deliver news from every genre with the main focus firmly resting on hard, political and national news.
While a traditional news bulletin doesn't allow room for the anchors to engage with one another, in Geo Pakistan’s two anchors, Huma Amir Shah and Osama Ghazi, often banter on points of interest whilst highlighting the perspective or the concerns, of the masses.
Geo Pakistan will have its own set of big news items to deliver. These will be elaborated and discussed further in the show.
Special Khabar is based on any current or prevalent issue for which an in-depth report is exclusively prepared with varying political, economic and human interest angles differentiating it from how it’s treated in the news bulletins. The issue could be of any beat but Geo Pakistan is mostly targeting crime, politics, business and human rights for this segment. A quick look would be presented at the minimum and maximum temperatures nationwide of selected cities. Geo Pakistan additionally offers simple tools and techniques to make people more tech-friendly/savvy such as a simple guide to using parental controls on the internet and various applications or the sharing child-friendly content for educational and entertainment purposes. It will air the latest movie teasers and trailers followed by their review and box office performance, once released in Pakistan. Geo Pakistan will be focusing heavily on the revival of Pakistani cinema: its struggles and accomplishments. It will highlight the local stars currently reigning and from yester years. It will list, report and discuss some of the latest events across the country and internationally covering theatre, culture, comedy, travel, eateries, arts, literature and various other festivals.
It will present cricket as being the central sport following its developments, highs/lows, celebrating the biggest stars, scandals and politics of this game, sharing tips and tricks to become better at this sport on an individual level. The programme will focus on local sports as well as international sports that are popular in Pakistan. It will cover crime news with updates and follow-ups. For the first time, in Pakistan’s news channel history, a 60-second fast visual step-by-step video will be presented showing the preparation of various cuisines including traditional desi, fusion and continental. It will give update on choked traffic situations in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
The celebrities will be invited in the studio or interviewed via video link or solo anchor based home/location based interviews highlighting their personal and professional achievements or downers.
There are so many segments including fashion, style, relationships, fashion, home and style, social media activity and trends, social issues, birthdays and death anniversaries will be aired in the programme.
The anchors of the show will not entirely be studio based. They will be venturing out on the streets showcasing real life and its hurdles, tasting local food on location, interviewing prominent people, teaching their audiences and learning as well how to go about their daily lives.
