A candidate in the last general elections for the National Assembly on Saturday demanded police protection following threats.
Talha Baig, who contested the 2024 general elections from the National Assembly constituency NA-237 as an independent candidate, stated that he was a social worker and had been attacked in 2017 and 2018.
He claimed that recently, unidentified individuals trespassed into his house in Gulshan-e-Iqbal in his absence and threatened his wife and children. He said that he had approached courts for registration of an FIR and identification of the suspects but no arrests had so far been made.
