ICHR-24: RMI’s three-day conference ends

PESHAWAR: The three-day International Conference on Health Research 2024 (ICHR-24) concluded at the Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) on Sunday with the participation of hundreds of national and international researchers and health professionals.

Dr Mukhtar Ahmad, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest.The attendees included RMI Chairman Prof Muhammad Rehman, Rehman Medical College Principal Dr Mukhtiar Zaman, Rehman College of Dentistry Principal Prof Dr Ghulam Rasool, Prof Dr Saeed Farooq from Keele University UK, Prof Dr Jehan Bakht, Vice Chancellor of Agriculture University Peshawar, and Dr Khalid Khan, alongside numerous researchers and health professionals.

Addressing the audience, the HEC chairman lauded RMI’s excellence in research and highlighted its potential to achieve university status. He emphasised on the role of research in addressing national challenges, calling for its continuous translation into practical solutions to overcome healthcare hurdles.

Dr Mukhtar Ahmad underscored the significance of conferences like ICHR-24 in nurturing a national research culture. He encouraged students to actively participate in research endeavours and strive for global recognition. Also, he commended Prof Dr Muhammad Rehman for his contributions to the field of medicine.

He stressed the importance of seizing opportunities created by shortages of healthcare professionals worldwide by grooming a new generation of medical practitioners, with a particular focus on the youth of the nation.
