Rawalpindi: Members of the ABP&AW (IR Branch) enjoyed a fun filled morning when they gathered for their annual “Eid Milan” get together here on Sunday.
Attired in their beautiful Eid ensemble the ladies excitedly greeted each other and were happy to reconnect with each other after a break. The venue was the newly re-constructed and renovated Rawalpindi Gymkhana which was aptly decorated and adorned for the event.
The management had gone all the way to organize and arrange fun filled activities, which included a Mehndi (Henna) application competition, and a bangles contest. The most popular among these was playing “Antakshari” where the enthusiastic members rendered verses and stanzas of popular songs exercising their memory skills. The highlight of the morning was an interesting and informative lecture on Nutrition delivered well by Dr. Fatima Gul (Radiologist) which evoked interest and engaged the audience. She was of the opinion that “Nutrition” is the process of providing the body its basic need of energy and growth. It was necessary to consume healthy food instead of focussing only on the taste buds.
Addressing the ladies President ABP&AW (IR Branch) Tahmeena Malik gave a brief update on “Bookshaw” the Association’s prized project the “Mobile Library”. She urged the members to participate in the activity which addresses the need to inculcate reading habits in young children.
