LAHORE : Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari said that onion has become cheaper by Rs29, tomatoes by Rs24 and potatoes by Rs22 in a period of one week.

The prices of other vegetables have also been reduced by Rs15 to Rs20. The prices of fruits are decreasing. This is the result of an excellent performance of the administration of all the districts of Punjab. She said that price control magistrates and teams are working in a proactive manner across the province on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz.

Getting the official rate list implemented is the biggest task. To implement this, all DCs, ACs and commissioners visit the markets on a daily basis. CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s mission is to provide ‘roti’ and vegetables at a subsidised rate to the people of the province. ‘Roti’ and vegetables are the basic necessities of a common man.

The price of vegetables and ‘roti’ should be within the reach of the common man.

Azma Bokhari said that the chief minister has assumed the office to provide maximum benefit to the people of Punjab in terms of provision of onion, tomatoes and food items at a subsidised rate. Maryam Nawaz is the voice of the common man, her mission is to bring ease in the lives of women and youth.

Maryam Nawaz is worried about 11 crore people of Punjab and not about the ‘Fitna brigade’.

The people have given us the mandate to solve their problems and we will come up to their expectations and trust, she concluded.
