ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has decided to convene a meeting of the high-powered selection board for the promotion of 18 senior bureaucrats from BPS-21 to BPS-22.
According to sources, the selection board will meet in the second week of next month and the Establishment Division has finalised all the preparations in this regard.
The working paper for meeting of the selection board after one year has also been prepared. Senior bureaucrats who are likely to be promoted to BPS-22 include Secretary to Officers of Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), Secretary to Prime Minister Asadur Rehman Gilani, Secretary Power Division Rashid Mahmood, Secretary Federal Education Mohiuddin Wani, Additional Secretary Incharge Information Technology Captain (R) Muhammad Mahmood Ahmad, Chairman Employees Oldage Benefit Institution (EOBI) Khaqan Murtaza, Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman and Irum Bokhari, Sajid Baloch, Jodat Ayaz, Nadeem Mahboob, Ambreen Raza, Usman Akhtar Bajwa, Musaddaq Ahmad Khan and Attaur Rehman. Officers of Police Service include Inspector General Police Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon and Ahmad Mukarram, B A Nasir, Zulfiqar Khan, Ehsan Sadiq, Ghulam Rasool and Zahid. Officers of Secretariat Group who are likely to get promotion to BPS-22 include Awain Noman Kundi, Abdus Sattar Khokar, Aamir Irshad Shaikh and Chaudhry Muhammad Ayub.
