Gunmen kill cement factory guard in Lakki
LAKKI MARWAT: A security guard was killed when unidentified armed men attacked a local cement factory in Lakki Marwat, said police on Friday.They said the incident occurred in the limits of Shaheed Haibat Ali Khan Police Station of Darra Pezu town late Thursday night.
The police said a group of gunmen entered the factory from the mountainside and opened fire on the security guards, killing one Mir Tala Khan.Commissioner of Bannu Division Parvez Patakhel, Regional Police Officer (RPO) of Bannu Qasim Ali Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Lakki Marwat Rehmat Ali Wazir and District Police Officer of Lakki Marwat Taimur Khan visited the cement factory to inspect the spot where the security guard was killed by unidentified assailants. They inspected the site.
The RPO met with the factory management and received a briefing from the security in-charge of the factory. He constituted a special investigation team to work out the case and arrest the culprits.Meanwhile, the management of the factory issued the following press release:
“On the late evening of April 25, 2024, an isolated incident occurred in the mining area of the cement company, situated away from the main plant. A few miscreants attempted to disrupt operations at the mining facility.
“However, due to the prompt response of the security personnel and LEA [Law-Enforcement Agency], the situation was brought under control. “Despite the attempted disturbance, production/operation remains unaffected and the safety and security of all employees and manpower have been ensured”.
