‘Protection of property, life of masses top priority’
JHANG: District Police Officer (DPO) Rashid Hidayat on Tuesday said the district police were ensuring the best service delivery with a determination to protect the properties and lives of the people.
He expressed these views during his surprise visit to the model Kotwali police station. He said that visitors were not only being provided pleasant behaviour in the police stations but also polite and soft-spoken police officials were available for their service. The DPO Rashid said that the upgraded service delivery system of the department would save the precious time of citizens as they would get various facilities at the police centres. The DPO directed the duty officials to help out the applicants round the clock according to the open-door policy. Later, while chairing a crime review meeting, the DPO warned the SDPOs, SHOs and investigation heads that strict action would be taken against the negligent cops who would fail to arrest drug peddlers and proclaimed offenders.
MONITORING ROLE: District Education Authority Administrator/DC Muhammad Umair on Tuesday directed the Education CEO to extend his monitoring role regarding the new admission in schools and distribution of free textbooks to the students.
The DC said that the presence of highly qualified male and female teaching staff and the spacious and clean environment of government schools were also an attraction for the parents and students for new admissions to government schools. He also asked the CEO of Education to ensure effective liaison between the forest officer and head of schools for tree plantation drive at public schools. DC Umair directed that by utilising non-salary budgets of the schools, the urgent needs of classrooms should be fulfilled on a priority basis.
Meanwhile, Education CEO Muhammad Sarwar told The News that DEOs, DDOs and AEOs had been directed to help out school heads regarding new admissions and distribution of free books across the district. Under the directions of the DC, classroom ceiling fans and clean drinking water facilities were being ensured at the schools, the CEO said.
