The police have now written in the FIR and challan of the case that she was murdered by her father and brother for honour
TOBA TEK SINGH: Police received the DNA test report of the deceased Maria, who was allegedly murdered by her brother and father on the night between March 17 and 18, from the Punjab Forensic Science Agency on Friday, reports Geo News.
The report revealed that Maria was not raped. The police have now written in the FIR and challan of the case that she was murdered by her father and brother for honour. The previous FIR under sections 302, 34, and 201 of the PPC was amended under section 311 of the PPC, indicating that she was murdered for honour.
Initially, the police claimed that the alleged killers, her father and brother, had raped her and strangled her to conceal the crime as she was four months pregnant. However, the DNA report also confirmed that she was not pregnant. A police officer confirmed that the viral social media video showing the accused Faisal strangling Maria was authentic as per the forensic analysis report of the video.
Both accused individuals, her father and brother, are currently in district jail on a 14-day judicial remand issued by a local judicial magistrate. It is worth mentioning that Faisal, her brother, confessed on camera in a recorded video a day after his arrest that he had raped and strangled his sister Maria to death on the night of March 17 to conceal their illicit relationship.
Faisal’s brother Shahbaz and his wife Sumaira, who recorded the murder video, informed the police in their statements after their arrest that Maria had told them the day before her murder that her brother Faisal and father Abdul Sattar had raped her. They also claimed that both accused individuals had threatened them, saying they would kill their children if they revealed the incident of Maria’s murder.
