RAWALPINDI: Babar Azam rubbishes any differences with Shaheen Shah Afridi, saying that the two have a very old bond and have good relations as teammates.
“I think the media knows more. Whenever I see these things, I only come to know through media. We have a very strong bond. Our effort has always been to support each other and give our best for the country. It is teamwork that is more important.”
Babar during media talk on Wednesday said that nothing had been finalized on the final combination for the World Cup T20. “There are twelve matches to go before the start of the World Cup. We are testing different combinations. Nothing has been finalized as yet when it comes to picking the best for the T20 World Cup,” he said.
“This five-match T20I series holds a lot of importance for us as we look forward to preparing for the all-important mega-event. We had a great fitness camp in Kakul and are looking forward to expressing ourselves as a unit.
“New Zealand will challenge us at different points in the series, serving as a fine work out for the Pakistan side. The prospect of having a blend of youth and experience in the side excites me as a leader,” he said.
