Lahore, Karachi, Quetta triumph
FAISALABAD: On the opening day of the National Women’s One-Day Tournament, Peshawar opener Ayesha Zafar’s unbeaten 108 off 94 balls dazzled spectators at the Bohranwali Cricket Ground in Faisalabad.
However, despite her heroic efforts, Lahore secured a seven-wicket win over Peshawar. Ayesha’s innings, embellished with 16 fours and two sixes, was not enough to carry her team to victory, as Lahore chased down the target of 167 in 31 overs.
At the Iqbal Stadium, Karachi defeated Multan by six wickets. Multan struggled to 116, and Karachi comfortably chased down the target, reaching 117 for the loss of four wickets in just 23.1 overs.
At Jawad Sports Complex Ground, Quetta’s Rameen Shamim’s four-wicket haul restricted Rawalpindi to a modest total of 80 runs, and then her resilient innings of 27 not out guided Quetta to a two-wicket victory.
