KARACHI: Ashaz Merchant, a Pakistani chess prodigy, has become the first player under 12 in Pakistan to attain the esteemed title of FIDE Arena Candidate Master.
His journey in the world of chess is not only marked by this remarkable achievement but also by his notable representation of Pakistan in various prestigious competitions. In 2022, he represented the country at the Western Asian Chess Championship held in Maldives.
In 2023, Ashaz showcased his skills in the 2nd Asian Youth Chess Championship. Additionally, he contributed to Pakistan’s presence in the World School Team Chess Championship held in Kazakhstan, following his victory in the National School Championship.
