Eidul Fitr celebrated across KP with religious fervour

Several Eidul Fitr congregational prayers were offered in Peshawar and other parts of the province to mark the festival

PESHAWAR: The Eidul Fitr festival was celebrated across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with religious fervour. Governor Ghulam Ali and Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur offered the Eid prayers in Peshawar and Dera Ismail Khan, respectively.

Several Eidul Fitr congregational prayers were offered in Peshawar and other parts of the province to mark the festival. Khateebs in sermons highlighted the importance of the festival.

The biggest congregational prayer was offered at the historic Mughal-era Eidgah on Charsadda Road. The chief khateeb of KP, Maulana Muhammad Tayyab Qureshi, led the prayers.

There were congregations at the Qayyum Stadium, Mahabat Khan, Qasim Ali Khan Khan, Gunj Ali Khan, Dilawar Khan and several others mosques.

Special dua was offered for the prosperity of the country and hapless Palestinians who had been facing massacre at the hands of the Israeli military since October 7, last year.

There was a great rush of people at the Eidgah as the festival was celebrated unanimously on the same day throughout the province.

People were overjoyed after both official and private moon sighting committees declared that Eidul Fitr would be celebrated on Wednesday, April 13.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam -Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman celebrated the religious festival at his native town of Dera Ismail Khan.

People flocked to the picnic spots in the provincial capital and elsewhere in KP.

People in Peshawar flocked to the Chacha Younas Family at Panj Teerath locality in Hashtnagri, Shahi Bagh and Baghe-e-Naran in Hayatabad.

The Governor's House was opened to kids on the third day of Eid -- Friday. Swings and other playing instruments had been installed there, besides food stalls to entrain children. The governor mingled with children. The Governor’s House was kept open for the general public on the first two days of Eid.

Meanwhile, a three-day funfair was organized by security forces at the scenic spot of Gomal Zam Dam, located 20 kilometers away from the Spin area of Wana tehsil, South Waziristan Lower District, to mark Eid.

The event featured boat races, food stalls, and various swings for children.

According to security forces, the purpose of the fair was to provide people with healthy recreational opportunities and promote local culture.

A great rush of tourists was seen, especially children tried to get place in the boats.
