Two smugglers killed
LAHORE
Two smugglers, yet to be identified, were killed in an exchange of fire with Rangers personnel near Jamma Border at Haier on Thursday.
Rangers personnel stopped two suspicious persons for checking, upon which, they opened fire at Rangers personnel. Both smugglers were killed during exchange of fire, and a huge quantity of drugs and liquor was recovered from their possession.
Their bodies have been removed to morgue.
Boy dies: A 16-year-old youth was killed and his sister injured by a speeding truck in the Kot Lakhpat area on Thursday.
Victims Shehroz and his sister were passing through Kot Lakhpat area when a rashly driven truck hit and injured them. The truck driver escaped from the scene. The injured were rushed to hospital where Shehroz succumbed to his injuries. Police have removed the body to morgue.
underage driving: Lahore traffic police will set up an awareness campaign in the City Division today against underage driving. A seven-day awareness camp had already been set up at Al-Hamra Chowk for the purpose.
