Security upped in KP for Eid

PESHAWAR: Security has been beefed up across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the Eidul Fitr. All the regional and district police officers have been directed to review the security plan for public places, trade centres, mosques and sensitive buildings during the Eid. The cops were directed to remain alert and take measures for their own security as well in the wake of recent attacks on police.

The other day the KP Home and Tribal Affairs Department directed the police and district administration across the province to notify security plans for the places of worship during Eid.The Home Department in a letter to the IGP and other departments outlined a number of arrangements to be made by authorities to ensure peaceful observance of Eid.

In Peshawar, more checkpoints were set up and patrolling was increased for the holy festival. All the sub-divisional officers and station house officers were directed to remain on roads and take action against those indulging in aerial firing.

Security in Peshawar was already upgraded in the last days of Ramazan. The cops have been directed to stay alert after the killing of an assistant-sub inspector in Badaber. The police force has been directed to remain vigilant in trade centres and public places and keep an eye on suspicious persons and movement.
